Stress Management | How to Bounce Back Quickly

Resilience: buoyancy or bounce back.

Have you noticed that some people seem to be able to bounce back from whatever life throws at them?

Would that be a useful skill for you to learn?

Humans are resilient by nature and like all skills, if you don’t use it, you lose it. But resilience can be built and maintained quite quickly and easily.

Think of resilience as being like having a piggy-bank (resiliency bank) inside you that your put money (credits) in to.  When you do activities that are fun, fulfillment or give a sense of freedom, you are putting credits in the resiliency bank.  When a stressful event occurs, you make a withdrawal.  The more credits you have, the less the impact of the withdrawal will be.  If you have a rapid series of changes or traumatic events, your resiliency bank can become depleted, and you will need to start again to build your reserves.

There are some tasks that you can do to build resilience in your life.
