Do you feel as if
there is a battle
going on inside of
you and you have
no control...?

Anxiety & Communication Break-down

Who are the wounded by-standers?

  • Do your family, friends and work-mates suffer because of your anxiety?
  • Is your career going no-where because you are unable to cope?
  • Have you ever said things that you later regretted? Do you feel bitter and want to feel better?
Even in the strongest relationships, there will be times when mountains grow out of mole hills and turn into problems that could have been avoided, so its important to keep striving for better communication.  Even in the most loving families, anxiety can become controlling and people can become resentful.  At work anxiety can ruin your chances of promotion, reduce your career options and even lead to greater anxiety.

Common Communication errors include:  threatening or unpleasant behaviour such as criticism and bossiness; unhelpful silences or verbal outbursts; not listening, or selective listening; being distracted and not paying attention; yelling, shouting and hostile behaviour always equals not expressing yourself clearly.  Ironicaly, the louder you yell, the harder you are to hear.

Fortunately you can work on your communication skills and improve your relationships.  You can influence the level of damage done, you can repair your career prospects and you can learn to get your message across.

Don't you owe it to yourself to improve your long term prospects?

If you learn assertive communication skills, you will learn to express yourself clearly.

If you learn to manage your emotions, you will become less reactive.

If you learn to identify how to learn where your skills deficit lies, you can develop the skills required to resolve the problem that you're putting so much energy into... and you can mend your bridges instead of burning them!

I cover these subjects in depth with clients, and am happy to help you  too, you just need to ask :)
